What is included on the tour?

1. Airport pickup on the first day of the tour- your guide will be waiting to welcome you at the gate.

2. Overnight accomodations primarily in Paradors(old palaces, fortress, castles,etc converted into quality hotels).

3. Complete breakfast ever morning

4. A gourmet evening meal with a choice of entrée and main course(except on rest days).

5. New or late model BMW motorcycle with insurance.

6. Tourhandbook(normally about 60 pages-very comprehensive) and highlighted map.

7. Expert mulitlingual guide on a motorcycle.

8. Multilingual guide in support vehicle which will carry your luggage, any oversized purchases you make; or even a passenger or 2.

9. Tour polo and other gifts.

What is not included on the tour?

Air ticket, most lunches, gasoline, drinks, personal spending.

  • Is an International Driving Permit required for your tours?

    Yes. Just bring your valid U.S. Driving License, $10 and 2 original passport-size photos to your local AAA office. For more details, click here.

  • How far will we ride each day?
  • Answer

    We ride approximately 300 km (185 miles) per day with stops for special attractions, snacks, and lunch.

  • How many riders are there on each tour?
  • Answer

    Iberian Moto Tours wants to keep the tour very personal and special. There are usually 8 to 12 riders on each tour.

  • What clothes should I bring?
  • Answer

    The dress is casual and our van will transport your luggage. Bring your helmet, riding gear, rain gear (just in case), bathing suit, t-shirts, jeans, and sweater or sweatshirt. Our handbook, which you'll receive at least 2 weeks prior to departure is complete with route maps and traveling information, and it will give you clothing recommendations.

  • Is a helmet mandatory?

    Yes, a helmet is required by Spanish law.

  • Who are the other riders on the tour?
  • Answer

    Our riders come from around the world. Most are from the U.S. Some are very experienced riders, some have only been riding for a year.

  • Do I need to bring traveler's checks?
  • Answer

    Spain and Portugal have ATM machines which will accept your U.S. ATM bank card or VISA card. Most are linked to international money networks CIRRUS and PLUS -check your bank card.

  • What extra cash will I need?
  • Answer

    You'll need cash for lunches, snacks, gas, and rest-days expenses. Extra purchases might include souvenirs and regional specialties.

  • Can I bring my own bike?
  • Answer

    If you wish to bring your own bike, you'll be responsible for its transportation overseas, service, insurance, etc.

  • What about my luggage?

    IMTBike has a support van to carry your luggage and any additional items that you purchase on the tours.

  • What are the restdays?
  • Answer

    The restdays are scheduled at points of cultural, scenic, or recreational interest, usually after several days of riding. It is a chance to relax and enjoy the culture or ride and explore new scenic locations. You are free to explore towns and cities on your own. We also provide you with riding routes, if you choose to ride that day. Most tour riders will join together for a day of riding or touring.

  • How experienced are the other riders on the tour?

    The riders on the tour are diversified. Some have been riding for years, others only a year. You will be able to ride at your own pace. Your comfort is important to us, and many riders have been able to learn advanced riding skills by following closely behind the guides.

  • Can my club design its own route?
  • Answer

    For your motorcycle club of 10 or more members, IMTBike will custom-design a route to your specifications and desires.
